Mediation Services

In addition to cases that are referred by the Montgomery County and Juvenile Court community cases are usually mediated on Saturday mornings. Often though, community cases are scheduled during weekdays and evenings at times and locations convenient for participants. Cases generally involve businesses, juveniles, landlords and tenants and pets. Issues presented in community mediations are as varied as noise, behavior concerns parking, traffic, property, non-payment of debts and many other issues.

Conflict Management Systems

The center develops systems to help organizations better address conflict. The center trains and mentors mediators, assists in developing a referral and education process within the organization.

The Center has worked with many schools and youth organizations to develop peer mediation systems. The Center is currently being paid to provide conflict management services to Dayton, Kettering, Northmont and New Lebanon school districts and is negotiating for services to two Dayton Public Schools.

Conflict Management Training

The Center offers half-day and full-day training seminars introducing the concepts of conflict and ways to address conflict in more positive and productive ways.
