The Prosecutor has reviewed the complaint and, with the help of a mediator, would like to provide you with an opportunity to address the situation on your own, before considering possible criminal charges.
What can I expect to happen on the day of my mediation?
A mediator will speak with each party individually. These separate sessions are about thirty (30) minutes long. You will then meet together, and the mediator will help you have a constructive conversation. The mediator will help you write any agreements or accomplishments reached in the mediation.
How can I prepare for my mediation?
To prepare for your mediation it can be helpful to think about what you want and need in regard to your situation. If there are any expenses that you wish to discuss, such as medical bills or repairs, you can bring copies of these.
What happens if my case isn’t resolved in mediation?
The Mediation Center will report to the Prosecutor’s Office that the parties did not resolve their situation. The Prosecutor will examine the case to determine what happens next. You may follow up with the Prosecutor’s Office by contacting (937) 333-4400.
